NOTICE OF NOMINATION OF COUNTY CLIMATE CHANGE PLANNING COMMITTEE MEMBERS

 

The County Executive Committee Member in charge of Climate Change matters hereby gives notice of a call for nominations of persons to serve in the County Climate Change Planning Committee as stipulated under the County Climate Change Act, 2022. Sections 15 and 16 of the Act provides for the establishment of the County Climate Change Planning Committee and the criteria for appointment of 12 members by the Count Executive Member respectively.

In this regard, the Department is seeking to receive nominations for suitable persons from;
1. The umbrella body of Private Sector Organizations in the County
a. A representative of the Private Sector
2. The umbrella body of public benefit organizations working on climate change in the County
a. Two representatives (Taking account of gender)
3. The umbrella body representing persons living with disabilities in theCounty
a. A representative of PLWDs
Requirements:
i. Must be a resident of the County and of good standing (A letter of proof of residence and
recommendation from the Area Chief)
ii. Demonstrable knowledge and experience on matters environment and climatechange
iii. Nominee’s application letter clearly illustrating engagement in environmental and
climate change affairs
iv. Willingness to serve the community
Applications/Nominations should be addressed to; THE CECM WATER, SANITATION, ENVIRONMENT, CLIMATE CHANGE AND NATURAL RESOURCES and hand delivered to the Department of Water, Sanitation, Environment, Climate Change and Natural Resources Office in Sofia, Voi; not later than 11th April 2023.

The Nomination should clearly indicate the Interest Group and MUST be accompanied by a copy of the Umbrella Body’s registration certificate.
